Casablanca focuses on love, duty, honour, sacrifice, loss and romance in a world that is in the middle of war. The film came out in 1942, directed by Michael Curtiz, during World War II when the U.S. tied with Vichy France. President Roosevelt equivocated and vacillated between pro-Vichy or Pro-Gaullist support. Casablanca was rushed into release three weeks after Allied landing into Casablanca. Casablanca was the African city in which Eisenhowers forces landed. The city of Casablanca was already known throughout the world and because of this, Warner Bros. were able to take advantage of it. This made the movie Casablanca more wonderful!
